Korenix launches JetNet 4006 fast Ethernet ring switches for redundant surveillance applications

26 January 2010
Korenix has announced JetNet 4006 series, the 6-port Industrial Managed fast Ethernet ring switches with 4 fast Ethernet RJ 45 ports plus 2 copper/fiber uplink ports for flexibly linking high-end switches with Korenix MSR network redundancy technology which can recover network failures in just 5 milliseconds.

The LLDP design allows the switches to be managed and configured easily by a single administrator console, and the topology can be automatically drawn in just seconds. More advanced management protocols such as DHCP option 82, SNMPv3, or VLAN are available for surveillance applications.

In addition, the slim IP31 grade rugged housing design with great heat radiation ability and redundant 12/48V DC power inputs with polarity reverse function make JetNet 4006 series represent best fitted, cost-effective and rugged solutions for surveillance in harsh environments such as railways, factory automation, coal mines, petrochemical factories, food/beverage industries, plant floors, etc.

Cost-Effective & Flexible Solution
The flexible design of JetNet 4006 series provides the best price/performance ratio among similar products offered in the market. In addition to JetNet 4006, the 6 fast Ethernet port model, Korenix provides the JetNet 4006f model with 4+2 fiber ports for applications, where longer distance data transmission is needed on an economical budget.

High Transmission Quality with 5ms link recovery
The JetNet 4006 series is equipped with 2 additional uplink ports for developing a redundant copper or fiber ring network with other high-end switches while ensuring the non-stop video stream transmission. The RSR recovers any backup path link failure in 5 ms eliminating the unstable status and delivering high quality data in a reliable, scalable surveillance network. JetNet 4006 series also provides inherent capability to easily integrate with other core switches by the Rapid Dual Homing technology and therefore, to increase the network reliability.

Excellent Performance with Auto-Network Topology & Efficient Management
JetNet 4006 series outstands from other DIN-rail switches by incorporating LLDP function for automatic discovery of the surveillance network topology. Besides, it efficiently works with JetView Pro, the Korenix patented i2NMS networking software, which in addition to the auto-topology visualization, also delivers MSR group management, group IP assignment, firmware upgrade, etc. as a result greatly increasing the video network performance. Furthermore, the IP surveillance network optimization can be achieved by the JetNet 4006 series’ full layer2 management features, including DHCP option 82, QoS, VLAN, IGMP Snooping etc. System administrators can benefit from its rich interface for remotely managing and configuring devices via Web browser, SNMP, Telnet as well as RS-232 console.

Integrating advanced management capabilities, rugged design and wide operating temperature range, the cost-effective JetNet 4006 series provides reliable and high-performance video traffic transmission under harsh industrial applications.
