Panasonic iris recognition reader can capture and identify users in 0.3 second

Panasonic has launched its next generation of iris recognition reader, the BM-ET200. The smarter, user-friendly, 5x faster unit can operate within large scale applications or even in stand alone mode, utilising a USB port from which information can be stored and transferred securely.

The sleek unit provides unique design characteristics coupled with superior capture speeds and simple user interface. The cost-effective BM-ET200 provides the ability to integrate with other access control products.

With quick processing capability, the new BM-ET200 can capture and identify a user in 0.3 second, to ensure users can be identified quickly and accurately.

The BM-ET200 has two mirrors mounted on the front panel. This ensures the position of the eyes is less likely to be out of alignment from side to side, making it easier to align the eyes. There is also vocal guidance and a distance indicator lamp guide to assist users.

Voice guidance via a speaker on the front provides operational guidance and recognition results which can be set in 14 different languages including

English, French, German, Japanese and Swedish and 3 different user settings of simple, full and mute in relation to the desired amount of guidance required.

The BM-ET200 also enables admin servers to track and monitor access to and from the restricted area quickly and easily as it has the ability to search the record log via time alone. This enables users to pin point definitively who was within the designated area at a given time, should any incident occur.

With a false acceptance rate of just 1 in 1.2 million, the BM-ET200 can restrict and monitor access with high precision, quickly and securely. It provides flexible system architecture that can be adjusted to suit users of different heights, for personal identification and is ideal for a range of applications such as Airports and entry/exit control for warehouses, head offices and hospitals to name a few.
